I walked to school that far everyday. K-12. Wish it was that simple now. Bus driver didn't do his job. This child must be from a home where the parenting is handled well. She didn't fold up and came up with a plan of action. Future leader in the making.

And people want to criticize me for wanting to home-school my child. There are more and more stories on ethics violations and just plain negligence with school officials every day. I couldn't imagine a small child walking by herself to try to get to school, when that was the bus driver's job. Her mother sure is taking the news well. I would be furious. Thank God she was safe.

The drivers should be required to walk to the back of the bus each day and check each seats to insure no kid have been left.

Benton County sure does protect the children. Snow/ice storm and call parents to risk more congestion during storms not to mention risking children's lives for that extra federal money for each child. Bus driver to lazy to check out his bus with knowing it's also the law. This child could have been picked up and never heard from again because of being lazy!
