Kroger Customers Can Donate Money at the Checkout for OK Tornado Relief

Grocery chain partners with the American Red Cross, will match donations made in its family of stores up to $50,000.
MEMPHIS, TN (News Release) - Kroger is joining forces with the American Red Cross to provide aid to victims of the Oklahoma tornado.

Starting today, customer donations will be accepted at all Western Tennessee; Arkansas; Mississippi; Poplar Bluff, Mo; and Paducah and Murray, Ky. Kroger locations.

All monies collected will be forwarded directly to the American Red Cross for relief efforts. Kroger will match donations made in its family of stores up to $50,000. 

“In the wake of this tragedy, we are thankful that Kroger customers and associates have a history of giving back to help during desperate times like this,” said Joe Bell, manager of marketing and public affairs for Kroger’s Delta Division. “We are appreciative of this opportunity to work with the American Red Cross to lend a hand to those who have lost everything in this tornado.” 

To make a donation, Kroger customers can simply add any amount they wish in $5 increments to their total purchase at time of checkout. The amount of each donation will appear on the customer’s receipt as a contribution to the American Red Cross. One-hundred percent of the funds collected will be sent to the American Red Cross.
