LR SWAT called to apparent hostage situation

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Police were called to an apartment on Pleasant Ridge Road early Thursday morning for a disturbance. When police could not get anyone to answer the door, the SWAT team was called in.

Police say a Wendy Salgueiro called 911 around 4am and said her boyfriend had assaulted her. When they arrived, no one would answer the door but lights could be seen being turned on and off in the apartment.

The SWAT team forced their way into the apartment around 7am and arrested 35-year-old Lanny Ward.

Ward was charged with violating a protection order on Salgueir0. He also had warrants out of Sherwood and Arkansas County.
