LITTLE ROCK, AR-- The line to see 'Dark Knight Rises' spilled out the door and onto the sidewalk at the Chenal Imax. Yolonda Callahan dropped her daughter off. But after the recent Colorado shooting, she had some worries.

"I am reserved about it. But she will be here with her best friend's grandma. So I am okay with it," said Callahan.

The crime put law enforcement agencies on alert across the country, including right here in Central Arkansas.

"There is no place someone is going to be 100 percent safe," said Lt. Carl Minden.

Minden says the Pulaski Couny Sheriffs Office will staff off duty deputies at the Rave Theater just like any other night. However what happened in Denver reminds authorities to always be prepared.

"It's nothing different than what they should be doing any other night. That's why the deputies are there to give you that safe environment," said Minden.

Movie goers say despite what happened in Colorado, they will not allow the crime to turn them away from the box office.

"There is nothing on the face of the earth that can stop me from seeing this movie tonight," said moviegoer Demarion Farmer.

Blake Mattison says he wanted to treat his girlfriend to a Friday night date and could not allow the mass shooting to stop his plans.

itsjustme; Like the old saying goes - If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. As talked about on FNC this am; if just one person in the theater had been a concealed carry permit holder, and had his/her weapon with them, then it's quite possible there would have been far fewer casualties. Yes, I realize tear gas was involved; but it doesn't effect everyone in the same way. I came out of the chamber in Basic with a few tears coming from my eyes, but I could still breath OK, and found it kind of amusing to see some of my fellow soldiers losing their breakfast. It's just conjecture; but isn't it possible that when the creep first threw the tear gas, and fired a shot into the air, that someone could have emptied a clip into him and took him down before he killed anyone?

This has nothing to do with gun control. This is about criminal control. Myself, as a law abiding, permit holding, gun safety instructor am sick and tired of these people saying that guns should be outlawed. If guns were outlawed, criminals would still be able to obtain them.

Butch54; we at least have one thing in common. And I do admit, I agree with most of your posts. If 54 is your "year", then we are also about the same age. I apologize for the hog comment. But I still don't know what mopeds and large women have in common. Peace out my fellow Christian.

william69 and Butch54; I like your name for the Mayor of NYC. He probably wasn't "voted" in; I have a feeling he took office the same way they do in IL; they buy the office, or get voted in by dead people, and people that vote numerous times. Butch54, don't know what your spiritual beliefs are; but you are correct in the assumable risk theory. My Bible says He can call us at anytime, so we are told to be ready. None of us know when, where, or how; all we can be sure of is that it will happen sooner or later. Doubt the 2nd Ammendment will be changed in our lifetime; did I see in one of your posts that you were a veteran? If so, we took an oath. To defend our Consitution from all enemies, DOMESTIC included; I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees!

There is something out there called assumable risk. When you leave your home you don't know what can happen. Drunk drivers, Cell phone drivers, and many others. I do not assume that going to a movie I will be shot to death. Also the government is put in office by a group called the morale majority. When the morale majority want a change they will elect enough to change it. Mayor Blowberg was elected by the moral majority in his area. They must like his ideas. The majority in other areas may join in later. Elect more like him. Now do you have a clue who the moral majority is. Just the voting public of these United States of America. Nothing wrote 300 years ago is put in stone. With this type of action happening everyday things could be changed. Some do get tired of it. I also wonder how stupid is the person that thinks someones grandmother is bullet proof.

Saw the mayors response on FNC this am. The gun control nuts will certainly be crawling out from under their rocks on this one. They should follow Obama and Romney's lead - pray for the victims and their families.
