LITTLE ROCK, AR – Four teenagers suspected of starting a 20-acre wildfire and blowing up a mailbox with fireworks confessed to the crime, according to the Little Rock Fire Department.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office says three of the teens are juveniles, the other one is 19-years-old.

According to a police from the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, the four suspects admitted to blowing up several mailboxes and shooting fireworks from their vehicles, setting off sever different fires in three separate counties, including the fire off Rahling Road.

The West Pulaski Fire Department spent Wednesday morning responding to multiple small brush fires in the Ferndale neighborhood and an exploded mailbox, suspected to have been caused by fireworks.

Around 3pm, 12 fire crews from three different fire departments and the Arkansas Forestry commission fought a fire burning in west Little Rock. LRFD suspects the fire was caused by fireworks and started near Rahling Road.

The fire ended up burning about 20-acres in an area bounded by Rahling Road, La Marche, and Taylor Loop. The wooded area that burned is described as steep and rocky. That terrain, combined with low humidity and high wind created a challenge for firefighters.

By 10pm Wednesday the fire was 100% contained. Fire crews will remain on scene throughout the night mopping up hot spots. LRPD warns that there will be smoke in the area for the next couple of days.

No homes were evacuated.

Ahhh summer...that glorious time when kids have WAY too much time on their hands to come up with stupid, bone head ideas that end up costing their parents thousands of dollars. Good job guys! (*insert sarcastic eye roll here*)

At a minimum, teach your kids "When under a burn ban, don't play with fire!". That's peoples homes and lives they are playing with!

Parents with teens that age should make them get a job. Don't think even McDonald's will look at them now.
