LITTLE ROCK, AR - A Little Rock police officer facing federal conspiracy charges for allegedly protecting drug shipments has been fired the department said Monday.

Lt. Terry Hastings says the department terminated the employment of officer Mark Jones, 45, on Friday, following his arrest on May 24.

Officer Randall Robinson submitted his resignation letter on May 30.

Jones and Robinson are due in federal court later today for a detention hearing to determine whether or not they will be allowed out of custody pending their trial.

The U.S. Attorney's office says Jones and Robinson provided security for over 1000 pounds of marijuana shipments through Little Rock.

According to court filings the officers worked with an informant and an undercover FBI agent posing as a drug dealer.

SERIOUSLY PEOPLE IF YOU THINK THAT THESE ARE THE ONLY TWO OFFICERS IN THE LRPD THAT ARE CORRUPT, YOU BETTER THINK AGAIN! THERE ARE SO MANY CORRUPT AND COWARDLY POLICE ON THE LRPD FORCE AND ONLY A HANDFUL WHO ARE NOT. THE STATE NEED TO FIX WHATS GOING ON INSIDE THE POLICE DEPT. BEFORE YOU CAN FIX THE OUTSIDE BECAUSE AS LONG AS THERE ARE POLICE LIKE THIS THEN ARKANSAS ESPECIALLY LITTLE ROCK & NORTH LITTLE ROCK GET READY FOR THE BIG BANG THEORY. BOOOM! IT'S COMING

This law on the books,"suspended with pay" has to be changed. If your arrested and charged with a crime you should be "suspended without" pay till pending matters are cleared.

About damn time they stopped his "administrative leave pay", pretty friggin stupid to pay a crooked cop. Makes the justice system look even stupider than they are.

I hate narcs and crooked cops...They're all the same..I know of an undercover narc who get's bj's outside of bars from prostitutes, smokes dope and does everything that the people he busts do...hypocrites and weak minded sheep is all that those undercover narcs are..I also know an ex undercover narc that quit because of the corruption that goes on...He was one of the few with character so that's why he gave it up...He works construction now, just a great guy....anyway, they're CROOKED! every single one of them..

Guilty, guilty and GUILTY....What a damn shame they not only made a disgrace to their department,police in general, their race but to their families. They deserve whats coming to them.
