LRSD: Fake Gun Used in Robbery Attempt

Two students tried to rob two other students with a fake gun last Friday at Central High School, according to the Little Rock School District.
LITTLE ROCK, AR – Two students tried to rob two other students with a fake gun last Friday at Central High School, according to the Little Rock School District.

LRSD says the suspects tried to take money and a cell phone, but were unsuccessful. The suspected students will be disciplined per policy and the matter will be forwarded to the Little Rock Police Department.

On Monday, a student was arrested at Hall High School with an unloaded 9mm gun and a loaded magazine.



Safety and security measures district-wide, according to LRSD:

  • Security systems, including use of hand-held scanning devices, cameras, Little Rock police officers, LRSD Safety and Security officers, school visibility plans, teacher monitoring of hallways, and the alertness of many students, contribute to our sense and practice for the safety of students and staff.
  • LRSD requires quarterly scans of all students on campuses, three random scans of students and two random scans of lockers. Schools may elect to do them more frequently.
  • Use of a hotline and reliance on call-ins that provide critical input for overall security efforts.

Little Rock Central High safety measures, according to LRSD:

  • Mobile Security Officers that use golf carts to patrol exterior of school
  • Duty personnel, Safety and Security officers and school resource officers assist students in exiting school, getting on buses; and monitor perimeter of campus
