aren't teachers technically state employees???? State employees are getting raises this year so why should teachers????

Bigbaddaddy12, that sounds like a great idea. Bid goes to the lowest bidder and often quality too. You get what you payfor... The military cut personnel and contracted many of the simple jobs too, now the tax payer pays a person $150k + per person just to have them do some of them simple jobs a job overseas and about $40k annual salary stateside.

support personal, like security and janitorial services need to be contracted out. this will save the district on salaries, insurance, payroll taxes, o/t, etc. and help keep quality/qualified teachers. Also, reduce administration overhead personnel--keep the focus on the teachers and the students!
