Lawsuit Filed in Squad Car Death

One year after a suspect died in the back of a police squad car, the victim's parents filed a lawsuit against Jonesboro police.
JONESBORO, AR-Exactly one-year after a hand-cuffed suspect died in the back of a squad car, a lawsuit is filed against Jonesboro police.

Police say Chavis Carter shot and killed himself, after being arrested. However, a lawyer for his family says there were no fingerprints on the gun. The lawsuit goes on to say Carter's civil rights were violated, and police did not have a reason to detain him in the first place.

Carter's car was searched twice before he was arrested; both times police did not find a gun. Carter's death was ruled a suicide in an autopsy report last year.
