Leaders Remember Central High Integration Crisis

The Little Rock Film Festival is recognizing this historic event with presentations and films.
LITTLE ROCK, AR - Fifty-six years ago this week, nine black students walked into Little Rock Central High School.

The Little Rock Nine faced a lot of opposition as they integrated the school, and it took military intervention to help them get inside the classroom.

The Little Rock Film Festival is recognizing this historic event with presentations and even showing films to remember the integration crisis.

"Many students, many years later, are able to reap the benefits of their sacrifice for service and justice. They story doesn't get old because the people in 1957 are still alive. They have relatives and grandchildren and other people affected,"
