LITTLE ROCK, AR – Arkansas lawyer and businessman Kevin Lewis was sentenced to 121 months in prison Friday after pleading guilty to bank fraud. Lewis was also ordered to pay $40 million in restitution to victims he defrauded.
Lewis acknowledged that he issued paperwork for fake special improvement district bonds to obtain money for his businesses and to support his personal lifestyle.
The Ponzi scheme netted Lewis more than $47 million.
The bank fraud charge carried a maximum pentalty of 30 years in prison.
