LITTLE ROCK, AR – Firefighters say a fire that destroyed a home western Pulaski County may have been started by lightning.

According to reports, police responded to calls about a structure fire at a home located at 24525 Brandon Lane.

Police say the homeowner, Matthews Jacques was out to dinner with his wife when the fire started, but that a dog was crated inside of the home during the fire.

Officials declared the home a total loss. The dog, a 2-year-old yorkie named Bella, died in the fire.
