Lightning suspected in NLR duplex fire

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR – Lightning is the suspected cause of a fire that damaged a duplex in North Little Rock Wednesday evening.

The North Little Rock Fire Department says the fire caused about $20,000 worth of damage to the duplex. The Arkansas Red Cross is helping the tenants, 5 adults and 2 kids, find an alternative place to say.

Nobody was injured in the fire.

The National Weather Service says the storm that moved through central Arkansas Wednesday caused about 320 lightning strikes in Pulaski County between 5pm and 6pm.
