BROOKLAND, Ark. (AP) — Officials say electric lights likely caused the barn fire that killed two miniature horses and one miniature donkey in northeast Arkansas.

The executive director of Spirit Ridge Therapeutic Riding Center tells the Jonesboro Sun that she was told Monday's fire likely started near lights that are used to illuminate an indoor riding area.

The organization in Brookland provides therapy for people with disabilities. No one was at the farm when the fire broke out, killing the three miniature animals in their stable. Neighbors were able to free four horses that weren't injured in the blaze.

Executive Director Sheila Coleman says the center will have to organize fundraisers and solicit donations in other ways to repair the damaged structure and replace lost items.
