LITTLE ROCK, AR – The Little Rock Education Association voted Tuesday to accept raises for their membership.
Union President Cathy Koehler says 192 of the 193 members voted to ratify the Financial Agreement for the 2012-2013 school year. This means a 1.75% raise for certified personnel retroactive to July. Non-certified personnel will get a 2% pay raise.
Koehler says the health care benefit is a huge cost savings for employees.
“The employees feel valued by the administration and valued employees do a better job in the classroom working with the students. Parents need to hear the message the Little Rock School District is stable.”
Koehler says the union is very pleased with the agreement, especially compared to how other districts are faring in the state.
