LITTLE ROCK, AR – An El Chico location that was home to a robbery attempt leaving one employee dead has been closed.

A manager at the El Chico on Breckinridge told FOX16 that the restaurant is now closed. Employees were told yesterday that the word came from the corporate offices in Dallas.

The restaurant had been opened at that location since 1979. Earlier this year, 39-year-old Jesus Larrious was shot and killed when several employees attempted to rob the restaurant.

What is with all the idiots running businesses? Hire security! When they do, nine times out of ten they hire some worthless unarmed security citing liability concerns. Security companies have liability insurance!

What a crying shame. When I was in high school so many years ago this used to be the uptown section of town. Fancy house's and upscale neighborhoods, I guess since they have trashed the school system they have trashed the city as well.

No business will survive in the ghetto. Back in the day, that area was a pretty good area. I have had many a swirl margaritas there. But when it became a ghetto, I stopped going.

Prayers for the family of the one killed and for all the other employees at the restaurant. I am sure some of it had to do with them not being able to emotionally go back into the building. Hopefully El Chico will open up at another location.

This is a shame, used to be a good place to eat any time. Then most people felt safe only during the day, the thugs and crack heads started hanging around at night. Hate to see a good place close because of the actions of idiots and fools.
