ArkYank, the "kid" was a THUG, who just happened to meet COP THUG, when you are out stealing and committing crimes you run the risk of meeting COP THUG, he wasn't exactly killed in the church parking lot reading his bible, what the cop did was wrong, but the little THUG got something he did not plan on.

I would be very interested in finding out if he is the son or related to former LRPD public affairs officer Terry Hastings. There is a strong resemblence to the long time face of the department.

We ALL have to follow the SAME laws...COPS and Public alike!!! Without viewing the videos of the incident, we cannot accurately say what actually occurred.... I agree that the 15 Y/O was a little PUNK and a criminal...likely in the company of older males... However, do we even know if he was driving the stolen car or did he jump in a getaway car to flee,..like a scared child would? If the kid was driving a stolen car, the cop MIGHT be justified in trying to stop the car,..but I doubt it becuz it was not the cops personal property nor a crime involving the injury, threat of injury, or death to another person... Look up the LEGAL DEFINITION of "EXCESSIVE USE OF FORCE" as defined by state and federal laws and interpretted by the courts. If the little-THUG was fleeing for fear of getting caught, but not in the Target-vehicle nor heading in the cop's direction, then the cop was not within his right to shoot the little THUG regardless... This officer's excuse mirror's the justification given by LRPD Officer Christopher Johannes last December when he shot at 3 black males in a car at Park Plaza.... This is the same Officer Johannes who falsely accused and arrested Arkansas Suregeon General Joe Thompson... When that story unraveled, the LRPD justification for the Dec shootings has come under scrutiny...Now, this LRPD officer is using the SAME crutch to hang his pistol on...

my view the cop did his job, stopping a fleeing felon. Little punk wants to do the crime he got a little more than he expected this time. Too bad the judge didnt keep his worthless ass in jail for priors instead he let the little punk back on the streets. The cop should get a medal for doing what the judge failed to do, protct the public from littl hoods like this.

Well said Butch. Curious I am; what does being a Christian have to do with this? I'm sure there are Christians that feel the "kid" wasn't doing anything wrong when he was killed. I'm sure there are Christians that don't think he did anything wrong when he carjacked a woman at gunpoint recently. We ain't perfect Dude; you, me, or anyone else; there is only one that is perfect, and He sits next to His Father in Heaven. How long would it have been before this "kid" eventually killed someone? We'll never know; but I'd say the odds were pretty good that eventually, he would have taken an innocent life with his chosen "vocation"; now that he's gone, that' one less potential murderer we have to worry about. It is indeed sad that he chose this kind of life to live, and it is indeed sad that his "job" cost him his life.

Sad he is gone. Sad he was out on such a high bond. Sad he was a little thug thief. Sad he didn't respect others property. Why didn't he just stay home and do the right thing. He could have. He didn't. Sad.

it really don't matter what the kid done recently. the kid was not trying to kill the cop period. the cop was not fearing for his life period. the cop was not justified. i am willing to bet the people backing the cop also claim to be devoted christians.
