LITTLE ROCK, AR - The Little Rock School District (LRSD) is spending millions of dollars on land for new schools.

During a special meeting last Thursday night, the LRSD School Board voted to approve the purchase of the following properties:
  • 56 acres at RichSmith Lane & Mabelvale Pike, cost $1,372,000
  • 43.5 acres at the north end of Katillus Road, cost $4,200,000
The vote was 6 in favor of the purchase, 0 against it, and 1 abstention.

The decision only included the purchase of land and no determination was made on specific facilities to be built.

The board will now conduct a feasibility study before making any decisions on construction.
