LITTLE ROCK, AR – Police say a fight that began outside of a Little Rock bar resulted in a stabbing that is now being investigated as a homicide.

According to reports, on September 25, police responded to a call regarding a stabbing at Rock City Lounge, located at 8115 Arch Street. Witnesses told police that a woman, later identified as 29-year-old Charleena Sims, was intoxicated, and as the victim, 38-year-old Robert Cauley attempted to put her into a vehicle so she could go home, Sims began yelling that Cauley had “touched her breast.”

Witnesses told police that Charleena’s husband Brian Sims allegedly became so upset, he pulled out a knife and began to stab Cauley in the chest and in the side. As several people attempted to separate the pair, Charleena reportedly pulled a gun from inside the vehicle and pointed it at everyone, including her own sister. One witness, who told police that the Sims were both heavily intoxicated and attempting to start fights inside the bar, was cut on the hand while attempting to stop the fight. After stabbing Cauley several times, witnesses say the Sims got into a maroon Pontiac Grand Am and headed south on Arch Street.

Police say Cauley was transported to UAMS, where he later died. Charleena Sims was later arrested on suspicion of DWI, and refused to provide a breath sample to police. Brian Sims was arrested at 11:20 am on October 3 and booked on second degree murder charges.

This investigation is ongoing.
