Here's the link to the municipal code. http://library.municode.com/HTML/11170/level3/COOR_CH36ZO_ARTVIIIOREPALO.html#COOR_CH36ZO_ARTVIIIOREPALO_S36-513MOVEPAREPR Sec. 36-513. - Motor vehicle parking on residential properties. (d)(3) The provisions of this subsection shall not apply to special public events such as, but not limited to, football games at War Memorial Stadium, or the Arkansas State Fair and Livestock Exposition; (4) The provisions of this subsection shall not apply on nationally recognized holidays, or to special private events such as, but not limited to, a private party or reception, if the private event lasts no more than six (6) hours during one (1) calendar day

@Quize: You didn't read the full article; "special events" like the Razorbacks & State Fair are exempt from the ordinance. There's no question more money will be raised south of I-630--but that's because of where the practice occurs; it's NOT a sign of selective enforcement.

The city could get rich when the Razorbacks play at War Memorial. Everyone within ten blocks of the stadium have cars parked in their yards. Same with the State Fair. No doubt the Mayor will be out with a ticket book to help raise some money.

When you get rats living too close together they bite each others tails off.

hey, gng001.... all those sales tax dollars that we dummys voted for went into a general fund, therefore the money can be used for anything including the SS Nazi code Inforcers. so our tax dollars are now paying for the gas that it takes for them to drive arround to look for vehicles that are lowering property value, so that they can write a citation for $50.the actuall reason for the tax increase was for the pention funds. :(

amberjack-When you refer to "certain neighborhoods", would that reference be to any property south of 630? Just sayin!

I don't see where this hurts anything in certain neighborhoods, but it does run down property values and that is why I moved from a house that was paid for to a nicer, more restricted area - to protect my investment. On the other hand, if I was one that wanted to park the boat and cars on the grass, I would move out where I could - just sayin

Well dang Charlie, maybe you need to start recycling. We all need to start think "Green" before they create a Green Inforcment Officer. Hmmm.....I just got an idea. You know if they increased the taxes another 8 or 10% per vehicle, maybe we can have a covered and gated parking lot for our vehicles. We then can get the "Code Inforcement Officers" to keep guard at the gates so that no hulagains will be able to damage our vehicles. The guarded parking lot would also increase our property value. Hell yeah...... Tax the snit out of us!!!
