CABOT, AR -- How would you feel if someone broke into a place you built to help the needy?

"I forgive them but they're hurting the children and I hope they find it in their heart to come and apologize," Kimberly Buchberger, the ministry's founder.

Buchburger said the place is called Hope's Closet & Pantry for a reason because they bring hope to a lot of people.

Today, though, there's hurt.

"I was speechless. I came in and didn't know what to say," said Heather Moore, a volunteer who discovered the burglary.

The thieves snatched away clothes and even threw around some. They grabbed more than 80 pairs of shoes and raided the pantry! They even stole some heaters that a local organization had just donated.

"It really hurts my heart because the children suffer when they take things we give to our kids and we have to wait and put parents on hold or a wait list," said Buchberger.

"If it were something they were in need of, they could have called us to come up here and assist," said Moore.

Some folks showed up to help fill the void while others had not heard the news.

"I just think it was God that led me here today. I really do. and I hope it will help someone," Wynonne Dwiggins, a donor, said.

Buchberger won't let this stop her from the mission but said she's already taking steps to prevent another hit.

"It's come to the point where we have to put bars on our windows and bars on or doors," Buchberger said.

Hope's Closet & Pantry is located off 2539 South Rockwood Drive in Cabot. If you would like to donate, call (501) 259-3799.

Dustin, if they could "access" what the thieves had gotten away with, ... never mind. How can the rest of us help Hope's to meet the needs? Are there an drop-off locations or collection points?

Wow another robbery story. Yes it's that time of year and we all know that evil is amoung us everywhere we go and in our communities. This just makes me sick that not only are they going to steal but then to destroy the place. Such low lives need to be taught a good lesson and I do believe in Karma. To all the thieves out there comitting such stupid crimes that hurt others, your day is coming. I certainly hope you're caught and you get the everloving sh** beat out of you.
