FACT is they threw it away!!!! Now just because it wins they want it back. Oh boo-hoo. Losers all the way around let the lady have the money. Would they want left-overs from lunch if someone else decided to eat them? The greedy people make me sick. Once you throw it away it means you don't want it anymore. Ask the police.

Again the Supreme Court ruled some time ago that you can not discard something and lay claim to it at the same time back when people were still being arrested for dumpster diving and the note didn't show up on the bin until after I made a similar comment on the story before. Guess she figures the note would make it look less like it was being discarded and help her case, too bad the Lottery people noticed it wasn't there before. One word: SCUM!

This is why you should scan your own tickets & not trust the store clerks to do it for you. The lady that actually bought the ticket should have asked to see the machine showing it wasnt a winner. I feel sorry for her because the store clerk basically stole the ticket from her when she told her it wasnt a winner & it was!

The store is going to get a percentage. Plus I was under the impression that the store itself could not buy the tickets. Let the lady have her money and the store their percentage.

According to the article in the Dem Gaz, Ms Duncan said that she scanned the ticket twice at the station and both times it told her it was not a winner. When the lottery was asked about this claim they said the winning ticket was scaned at the location it was purchased and two other locations and all three scanned showing it was a winning ticket. During the investigation on January 19th before the lottery paid out the money to Ms Jones the scanning machines were tested at the Beebe location and were in proper working order.

As far as Ms Duncan and her knowing if she threw away the winning ticket according to the Dem Gaz article in testimony she said she scanned the ticket twice and it said it was a loser. When the Lottery was asked about this claim, they said the winning ticket was scanned at the location bought and two other locations each time showing it was a winner as expected. During their investigation before the pay out of the ticket the Beebe stores machine was checked and it was in working order.

The people in the town should boycott this store. It's obvious the owner is just a greedy liar who's upset that someone else received good fortune and she didn't. I hope the court awards the money to the lady that found the ticket. I guarantee if this was a losing ticket we wouldn't be hearing of this case today. So my hopes is that the judge and the lotto commission do the right thing and award the lady her money she found it fair and square.

In disputes like these, it's clear what to do: Give the winnings to me! :)
