HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas lottery commissioners say they're in no hurry to find a new director for the games weeks after Ernie Passailaigue resigned from the post.
The commission on Monday did not vote on a job description for the director and members said they wanted more time to review criteria for the position. Passailaigue resigned Sept. 19 following criticism over his management of the games.
The commission discussed the search process as the nine-member panel held a retreat at National Park Community College in Hot Springs.
Passailaigue's resignation was followed by the departure of his two chief deputies. Vice President for Gaming David Barden resigned and Vice President for Administration Ernestine Middleton was fired.
Commissioners said they wanted to wait until a new director is hired to fill those posts.
