LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Police arrested a man Monday night after finding chickens and a pig running around inside his home.

George Brooks' family says he's in jail for beating his son with a metal broom handle and waving a gun in his daughter's face, but when police arrived to his home, they say it was full of trash and animal feces, with a pig and chickens running around inside.

Brooks had marijuana on him, and officers say they also found the making of a moonshine still.

He is being held in the Saline County Detention Center on charges of second-degree domestic battering, second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor with risk of serious harm, aggravated assault with a weapon, carrying a certain prohibited weapon (knife), possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and manufacturing alcohol.

YOU PEOPLE ARE DISGUSTING , HE IS STILL A HUMAN BEING,YOU THINK Y'ALL ARE SO RIGHTEOUS. YOU NEED TO LOOK AT YOURSELVES WHY YOU THINK ITS OK TO CRUCIFY SOMEONE YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT, AND DONT KNOW THE WHOLE STORY. GOD WOULD BE SO DISGUSTED AT THE WAY HIS CHILDREN ACT TOWARD OTHER HUMANS. WHAT HAPPENED TO HELPING YOUR FELLOW MAN.

I happen to know this man and have for several years. Things aren't always what they seem. He may not look like what society expects parents to look but most important thing to him in his life is his children. He has raised them alone since their mother abandoned them. I will never believe this is true. I am sure the truth will come out. Sometimes we all should wait and get all of the information before judgement.

@Only: Didn't say it was funny. Funny farm is a term used in the past; means "nut house" or mental institution. I've raised cattle; but not in the house.

Sounds like "tobacco road" .....disgusting .... ignorant....needs to be in jail and his kids need a decent place to live. They will probably keep him for a few months and let him out to take care of his children.. God Bless these children.

I grew up feeding chickens, slopping hogs, and I make wine. My hair is longer than his, full beard. In the right company I might burn one. But waving a gun and broom handle beatings I can't do. The way I see all but the gun and stick are hillbilly. A hillbilly is just a country boy. Country boys can survive. Gun wavers and broom stick beaters got to go.
