Man Indicted for Murder of Former UCA Basketball Player

A man has been indicted for the murder of former University of Central Arkansas basketball player Jimmy McClain.
MEMPHIS, TN -- A man has been indicted for the murder of former University of Central Arkansas basketball player Jimmy McClain.

The Shelby County, Tenn. Sheriff's Office has indicted 19-year-old Dwayne Moore for murder.

Moore is currently behind bars on a $2 million bond for aggravated burglary and theft of property. After being served with the indictment, Moore is expected to be officially charged on Tuesday evening.

According to an affidavit from Shelby County, Moore was arrested for stealing a custom AR-15 rifle from a person's home.

Sheriff Bill Oldham announced a press conference for Wednesday morning to discuss the details on the case, but declined to release any additional information until then.

Deputies went to McClain's home in the 7600 block of Cordova Club Drive on Friday, Feb. 22 for a welfare check after he hadn't been seen or heard from for several days. McClain was found dead inside the home.

The 49-year-old McClain taught personal finance and accounting at Ridgeway High School, where he was also an assistant coach on the boy's basketball team.
