Man Tells Deputy During Traffic Stop that He'd Been Smoking Meth

Deputy noticed that Griffith was acting nervous and that he was "under the influence of something."
HOXIE, AR -- A Benton man was arrested on Wednesday after telling deputies he'd been smoking meth.

A deputy with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) stopped 45-year-old Darrin Griffith for speeding near Hoxie.

According to LCSO, the deputy noticed that Griffith was acting nervous and that he was "under the influence of something."

When the deputy asked about his actions, Griffith told him he had been smoking meth, and that he didn't have any more with him, but displayed two used glass pipes with which he'd used to smoke it, LCSO says.

Griffith was placed under arrest and taken to the Lawrence County Jail, where he was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
