JACKSONVILLE, AR – Police say a man accused of killing a firefighter and injuring other first responders to an accident scene in March was involved in a similar incident in October of last year.

Officials from the Jacksonville Police Department received a report from the Columbus Ohio Police Department linking 47-year-old Bryce Allen, accused of running over two Jacksonville firefighters and one police officer as they responded to a wreck on March 19, to an attempt to run over another police officer at a hospital in Ohio.

According to the report, on October 14, 2011, Allen hit a Suburban Police Officer with his vehicle at Riverside Memorial Hospital in Columbus Ohio. Allen was wanted for felony assault in connection to this incident when he allegedly ran over firefighters Donald Jones and Jason Bowmaster along with police officer Daniel Dimatteo with his car five months later. Jones was killed in the accident.

Allen was arrested and charged with murder for Jones’ death on March 20.

@dilligaf i am NOT saying its ok! because it is not!!!! he took someones life!!! that in itself is the ultimate sin. but say he needs to die? two wrongs dont make it right. all that will do will cause another cycle of killing. just because we kill one person doesnt stop people from killing other people. as im writing this there is someone probably committing murder and then another person and then another. this people is the world we live in.

@TruthTeller LIKE i said what he did is very very wrong and my condolences goes to the family of the fallen firefighter but for you all to judge this man like you are God is just plain ridiculous! you all cant judge him!!! only person who can judge any of us is god himself. you can say your opinions all you want until your blue in the face but your human too and you make mistakes. like i said why you are all are screaming death penalty it most likely wont happen. be ready to spend your tax paying dollars keeping him alive and in a hospital where he belongs. Agreed truth. prin7898, youre an idiot to defend saving the life of this KILLER!!!!!!!!! I am sick and tired of the entire mental disease/mental defect plea. The majority of them know what they did, they know it was wrong yet our justice system, and the families of the "mentally ill" think its ok to just say "well, he was crazy, its ok."

@prin7898 - You know who didn't deserve the death penalty? The firefighter this scumbag ran over and killed. His only crime was doing his job and trying to help someone. The quicker this worthless waste of breath is dead and buried the better.

@dilligaf because its called human compassion you piece of crap. maybe we should send you to your maker! every man sins and no man is perfect but perhaps you are? i am not saying he shouldnt be punished because in reality what he did is very wrong but to say to that he needs the death penalty it a little to harsh. the death penalty is for those psychotic serial killers not for a man with a mental illness.....oh wait the news isnt saying that are they? of course not!!! because its the MEDIA!!!! they say what they want you to hear and not the actual truth.

he should receive the death penalty. Intentionally running someone down in your car is no different than intentionally pointing a gun at someone and pulling the trigger.
