Man arrested for attempted copper theft

SCOTT, AR - The Lonoke County Sheriff says a man was arrested for attempting to steal copper wiring from a vacant house on Toltec Road.

According to the Sheriff's Office, a farm worker reported seeing a suspicious truck near the residence. A deputy responded and found 52-year-old Alfred Ray Taylor near the house according to a release.

The deputy says Taylor admitted to trespassing in order to take copper wire from the house.

Taylor, who had an outstanding felony warrant for parole violation, was arrested for trespassing and attempted theft. He is currently being held at the Lonoke County Detention Facility.
