It can be forgotton. It's not as hard as you think. I travel for a living by vehicle and plane. I have a CPL and have many times put my gun in my computer bag. It has remained there sometimes weeks at a time. I was out of town in several different states for the entire 2011 year. I remember having to take a flight scheduled at the last minute and almost forgot it was in there because I was in a hurry. I'm not making excuses just saying if you normally do not travel it would seem impossible to forget but if you make your living on the road where a flight is as common as stopping for fuel or getting a bite to eat it can happen. Since that time, I carry my weapon on my hip where it belongs. It's much harder to forget it's there that way.

Lets stop bashing the second ammendment for a second and look a little deeper...why are so many actually carrying guns these day's...the economy's so bad crime is up (i don't care what those fat A$$es down @ Little Rock say)...they are screamin for more cops and raising taxes for it yet the one's we have remain underaffective...hence the feeling of "need" to carry...and yes i know ya'll are tired of hearing this but the one's we have are Tax Collectors not cop's...the old saying goes to protect and serve...not to bleed dry...this can't get said enough...if it's purpose is Income or Revenue then it's a tax...its not a fine it's not teaching a lesson...it's not just rewards...(yes i had a cop say that to me) it's a tax!....it's a tax! and if it's a tax call it a tax...got no problem payin taxes....but the one's the cops collect are taxation without representation....sound familiar if it don't you should stop calling yourself American...they made a law that says half a municipality's funds can't come from tickets....i just want it enforced...they want to enforce there speeding laws on me i wan't the law enforced on them

I totally agree with mikerthebiker. I have my conceal license and was told and it is in writing in the handbook that a conceal weapon can be carried on an aircraft, not at the bottom of the plane, but as a carry on as long as it is in a locked case and the magazine not in the gun or no bullets in the revolver. This gentleman must have forgotten about a locked case..

Agree with Mikerthebiker, How can you just forget where you have a firearm, I know where ALL of mine are at right NOW. With everything concerning the TSA and such, Gross negligence in the handling of firearms, Immediate removal of CCP !

"Hastings says people with concealed carry permits forget to leave their guns at home when preparing to travel." They are not forgetting Lt. Hastings! The class you take to get your CCP tells you "not too". These ppl are idiots and should have their CCP's revoked.
