PARIS, AR - A 21-year-old man died Sunday afternoon after falling from a lookout on the south side of Mt. Magazine State Park, according to the Logan County Sheriff's Office.

Chief Deputy David Spicer says Caleb Lewis fell approximately 35 feet. A rescue crew brought Lewis up to EMS personnel who pronounced him dead at the scene.

Lewis stepped over a wooden barrier at the Petit Jean overlook while taking a photograph on Sunday afternoon, according to the AP.

It was the stop at the end of that fall that got him.

My heart goes out to the family...I'm sure glad my fear of heights keeps me off of dangerous cliff sides.

So sad for this young man's family. I sure hope he didn't see the picture that was in Sundays newspaper June 10th. The picture is on the front of the Three Rivers Edition. What were they thinking!
