Man dies from early morning shooting in NLR

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR – A man who was shot early Wednesday morning in North Little Rock died from his injuries at UAMS.

Police say they responded to the Motel 6 on W. 29th Street around 2am to find 26-year-old Michael James Jr. shot in the lobby. The night manager of the motel tells police that the victim walked into the lobby and told him he had been shot.

It is unknown if James was shot at the motel or elsewhere, but police say he was staying at the Motel 6 even though he was a North Little Rock resident.

James was transported to UAMS and taken into surgery. He died later Wednesday morning.
