The Conway County Sheriff’s Office says they found a dead hiker on Petit Jean Mountain Thursday afternoon.

According to Sheriff Mike Smith, the hiker’s name is Mark Johnston. Smith says it appears Johnston fell 12 to 15 feet off the mountain. Johnston was found at the bottom of a waterfall in ankle deep water with ‘severe head trauma.’ Smith thinks it is likely Johnston fell sometime Thursday morning, but was not sure.

There were no signs of foul play according to Smith.
