FORREST CITY, Ark. (AP) — A man in Forrest City free on bond after a jury didn't convict him on a capital murder charge faces a second charge of capital murder for a separate slaying.

Police say 20-year-old Terrance Mays is accused in the Monday morning shooting death of 20-year-old Dominique Tobar.

The Times-Herald reports Tobar's body was found inside a pickup truck at a city intersection.

Jurors deadlocked in October when Mays was tried for the 2010 death of Arthur Joplin. Prosecutor Fletcher Long says he plans to seek the death penalty for Mays for Tobar's death. He also said a conviction in that case would make a second trial for Joplin's death unnecessary.

After the mistrial, Circuit Judge Richard Proctor freed Mays on a $100,000 bond.

Wrong, a conviction is the death of Joplin, would have made Tobar still alive. Talking about dropping the ball on this one big time.
