Man killed in Little Rock shooting

LITTLE ROCK, AR – Police responded to a shooting that left one man dead Wednesday night.

According to reports, around 10:42pm on April 4, 25-year-old Jose Mendoza, 21-year-old Joshua Butron, 23-year-old Mario Sanchez, and 36-year-old Pedro Perez were standing on the front porch of a home on Chicot road when two men came up and asked them for a cigarette. When Mendoza told the men that none of them had a cigarette, the suspects left, but returned about 10-15 minutes later and began shooting at the porch.

Police say Sanchez was shot in the foot while Perez was shot in the back. Both men were taken to UAMS for treatment, where Perez later succumbed to his injuries.

There have been no arrests at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
