FORT SMITH, Ark. (AP) — A volunteer firefighter charged with impersonating a Barling police officer has pleaded not guilty to first-degree criminal impersonation.

The Southwest Times Record report that 33-year-old Shawn Michael Cossey of Jenny Lind entered the plea in Sebastian County Circuit Court.

Cossey was arrested Oct. 12 after complaints were made that a man at a Barling park was identifying himself as a police officer.

A police report says Cossey used his firefighter badge and that a search of his camper revealed handcuffs, four loaded handguns, a loaded shotgun and a bulletproof vest. The report says a woman in the camper told police that Cossey said he was a Barling police officer and that the park attendant said Cossey had said he was a member of the department's SWAT team.

I pray firemen who wish to be police officers will step up and take the risk, stop wishing you were one.

They chose the Picture of the Police Shield because this guy was posing as a Police Officer not a firefighter, I'm quite sure this was intentional.
