Maumelle man arrested for solicitation of a child

MAUMELLE, AR – Michael Daly, 58, was arrested at a Wendy’s Friday, believing that he was meeting a 14-year-old there for sex, according to the Maumelle Police Department.

Police say they learned about Daly when he called a wrong number, possibly inadvertently, and the conversation turned sexual. Police say Daly had phone conversations with an undercover detective, whom Daly believed to be a 14-year-old girl, where he solicited sexual acts.

The detectives organized a meeting with Daly at the Wendy’s on Carnahan Drive. Daly arrested at the restaurant at 1:05pm Friday for sexual indecency of a child, a felony. Daly’s next court date is Saturday at 9am.
