LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — A McGehee man caught a 6.27-pound largemouth bass to win the 2012 Arkansas Big Bass Bonanza.

Officials say David Shopher took home $50,000 on Sunday as well as a paid spot at the 2012 Bassmaster Open.

The taxidermy business owner fished in the Coal Pile area of the lower Arkansas River, using Tennessee shad-colored crank bait.

Winners in the other four pools are Jerry Overton of Hot Springs (6.19) in the Dardanelle Pool; Jess Everette of White Hall (5.38) in the Pine Bluff Pool; Craig Flowers of Midland (5.22) in the Fort Smith Pool and Lane Patterson of Little Rock (5.84) in the Little Rock/North Little Rock Pool.

The four pool winners were awarded a $10,000 prize for catching the largest fish in their pool.
