LITTLE ROCK, AR-- Thursday night, a gospel music program is held to honor a Little Rock couple tragically killed in a house fire. Family and friends celebrate the life of Donald Creer, and his wife, gospel music announcer Donna Creer.
St. Mark Baptist Church hosted the event. The Creers were very involved in the gospel music industry.
Hundreds of people turned out for the service, as people from Little Rock and across the country honored the lives of Donald,50 and his wife Donna,57.
Friends say the two always wanted to inspire other people to be their best and that was the focus of the service.
Even national gospel artists, like Evelyn Turrentine-Agee, came to pay respects to their friends.
"We move forward in faith knowing that God is in charge and he does all things well, no matter the circumstances," said Turrentine-Agee.
Little Rock police say Donna and Donald died in their Markwood Drive home June 12. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Donna Creer was also battling cancer before her death, but friends say she was starting to get better.
Funeral services for the Creers will be held Friday at St. Mark beginning at 11.
