CONWAY, Ark. (AP) — A memorial is set in Conway for the community to mourn the deaths of a grandmother and granddaughter who died in an apparent murder-suicide.
Matt Tucker, principal at St. Joseph primary school, says classmates of 7-year-old Abby Robbins are doing well. He tells the Log Cabin Democrat that he hopes Wednesday's memorial service will provide closure for students who have missed seeing Abby in class.
An autopsy shows that Janice Robbins stabbed Abby then set their home on fire. Both suffered from smoke inhalation and died Jan. 7.
The memorial service is scheduled for 8:20 a.m. and will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Conway. Tucker says the service is open to the public.
