LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - State GOP officials say Mitt Romney will visit Arkansas for a fundraiser next week.

Party spokeswoman Katherine Vasilos says Romney will be in Little Rock on Wednesday. It's the first Arkansas visit for Romney since he became the presumptive Republican nominee for president.

A Romney campaign spokesman declined to comment.

The fundraiser comes less than a week before the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla.

The visit was first reported by Stephens Media Group. An invitation to the fundraiser says receptions will be held at the Peabody Hotel followed by dinner at the Capital Hotel in Little Rock. The invitation also lists the Republican members of Arkansas' congressional delegation as special guests.

The dinner costs $50,000 per couple. The receptions range from $2,500 per person to $25,000 per couple.

Why does it have to be about race! this article says Mitt Romeny is coming to AR! so I will comment on that! I don't like his plans or policies, I don't like him! so I don't care! and yes he will carry Arkansas, Duh! If you just want to talk about race then history has proven it and the present continues to show it! Arkansas is the South; it has and always will be a racially divided state!!!

That's all I can ever remember; the lesser of two evils in elections. The lesser in this one is a Republican this time around. Obama is another Carter. And Obama has a socialist agenda; not Americans cup of tea. And I've heard way too much about his "birth certificate" to believe he was born in America. I've never considered wp or golfdude racist; yes, they make comments about thugs, whether they be black, white, or green. So do I. mikesmothers; my family roots have been traced back to the 1600's. My personal beliefs are that Native Americans have far more reasons to complain than people that claim to have been slaves. But what happened can't be undone; we are here to stay until God decides otherwise. If I were Native American or Black, I'd be very worried about the Democrats agenda as far as illegals flooding the country; your voices, and your childrens, will soon be drowned out by a larger minority; a minority that disikes blacks just as much as they dislike whites. I've had Hispanic friends tell me as much, along with white friends that married into Hispanic families. Bottom line - Obama is leading this country down the toilet. What has he done for anyone while in office? Obamacare? Don't need it. Got rid of the welfare to work program? A political ploy for more votes. 8 percent unemployment? I'll keep my freedom, my money, and my guns - you keep the "change".

laverdad, please tell me what has been disproven? Funny how obama's own grandmother said she remembered the day he was born, in KENYA..Disprove the fact that van jones is a self-admitted communist who obama appointed. Please disprove any "rumor" about obama that you feel necessary..I WILL be waiting..

Arkansas, what statement did I make that is racially biased??? You have a wild imagination and maybe you, laverdad, should learn to think for yourself and stop watching MSNBC or any other network news..I don't watch any network news, only local and I read fact-based articles to draw my own conclusions... I don't live in a "trailer park" either but I bet you do. Nothing wrong with that though, I don't judge people based on how much money they have. I know some hard working people who live in a trailer while they're saving up to build a house...but if obama serves a 2nd term, we'll all end up in a trailer park or section 8 housing but I bet you two (laver an AR) would love that, just more freebies for ya brought to you by obama, pffff.. You obama lovers are "hope"less...YOu think you're calling me out with your race card Arkansasinohio? That's hysterical. Anyone who doesn't approve of Obama is just a racist to any of you liberal nutjobs, that's sure thinking for yourself huh?...I'm all for healthcare reform, just not obamacare..It's unconstitutional and it doesn't matter what the supreme court decided, they WERE WRONG!!! I'm all about state's rights, the 10th amendment..We are the United STATES, not the federal states..you lefties think that the fed gov't is the solution to EVERYTHING when it's quite the opposite..The FED GOVT is why we are in the situation we're in today, not the rich people who own businesses..anyone ever notice that when the fed govt got into the health insurance business, housing and tuition lending biz, the prices soared and our economy collapsed?? YOU two need to do some research and think for yourselve's for once in your entitled-minded lives..but you're too blinded by obamanism to see any fault in him at all...I see fault in both parties but you wingers from both the left and right can't see any fault in your own party...and supporting Obama is insulting your own intelligence, but then again, you really can't insult what's not there.

Man, gotta love people who try to throw old, disproven, straight from Fox News talking points at people. Just like they teach you at the trailer park. Learn how to think for yourself.

wpsark: Just saying you like a few Black people doesn't clear you from the fact that your comments were racially biased. Also Herman Cain was an idiot, how you could claim to be a fan of his with a straight face? I'm just calling it like I see it. If you had anything negative to say about Barack Obama(such as economic growth has been slow, you didn't like the way he handled Gitmo, you didn't like the healthcare reform) with any substance other than "He's Kenyan" or "He's not an American", then I wouldn't be calling you out on your racially biased statements, rather, I'd be debating you about those points. The fact that you are insulting your own intelligence by going that route and then saying I'm pulling out my race card when your statements are clearly racially biased. But if you don't want to discuss anything because my logic is making your brain hurt, go right ahead.

arkansan, there you go with your race card already..I will not discuss anything with you until you can put that down...I never said Romney was an average American, he's the lesser of two evils and at least he knows something about the private sector..I'm a big fan of Col. Allen West, was also a fan of herman cain, so again, put down your lame race card!!!!
