SEARCY, Ark. (AP) — Two more entities are making claims to ownership of a $1 million Arkansas lottery ticket, over which two people are already suing each other in White County.

Beebe resident Sharon Jones claimed the ticket that she got out of a pile of discarded scratch tickets at Super 1 Stop in Beebe on July 15. Lisa Petriches, who manages the store, filed the original suit against Jones, claiming Jones wrongly took the partially-scratched ticket from her. On Monday, a judge added to the suit Sharon Jones, who claims to be the original purchaser of the ticket.

The Daily Citizen reports (http://is.gd/75OAV3 ) the corporation that owns the store, Summer One LLC, is also now part of the suit.

Hughes has set another hearing for March 5 at the courthouse in Searcy.

If the woman that originally purchased the ticket threw it away, she doesnt stand a chance at winning this case. The people at the store shouldnt be entitled to it, nor should the person that found it. Take the money, pay out some scholarships.

I hope the lawyers leave the woman some of the money. What happenend to being happy for someone else having something good happen to them??? I'm glad when good things happen to others. It goes to the woman who got it out of the garbage can. If it had been worth $5 they would still probably be greedy and selfish about that.

A simple lesson that I have learned from all of this is, if I purchase a ticket I will initial, sign it and check it myself!!!!!! The person who threw it away obviously didn't want the ticket...period. The woman who found it and held onto it is the winner....Yes finders keepers... All is right though, once the attorneys are done there won't be a whole lot of cash flow left....lol

By the time the attorneys are done with this, there wont be anything left of the million bucks.

Whomever put their name on the back of the ticket is the rightful recipient of the prize. That's why that form is on the back of all lotto tickets, whether scratch-off or computer-printed Powerball/MegaMillions/etc. type tickets. Further, *this* is why it says "sign back of ticket immediately after purchase." If the person had followed this simple directive, we wouldn't be in this mess.

I have learned one thing from all this. Don't trust the scanner, check all tickets yourself.

The rules are , who ever has the ticket is the owner of it. If you loose it , throw it away or it is stolen from you. You are responsible for holding on to it. That is why there is a place on the back of every ticket to sign your name and other info. If it is lost or stolen your name is on it.

I don't care how many cameras show her with the ticket doing whatever, when you throw it in the trash that means you have no interest in it anymore. If their was a charge due from that ticket not one of these people would claim it was their ticket.Finders keepers LOOSERS weepers!!
