An approaching cold front will bring a couple of rounds of rain and a few storms to Central Arkansas tonight and early Saturday.

Showers and weak storms will push across the area late tonight. Some storms may contain some briefly heavy downpours and frequent lightning, but the threat for severe weather is low. A second round of showers and storms will develop along a cold front which will approach Saturday morning.

An isolated strong storm will be possible, mainly across parts of Eastern Arkansas later in the morning. Skies will clear out by mid-day Saturday with breezy and mild conditions. Colder air will filter in behind the front by Saturday night with temperatures dropping into the upper 30s to lower 40s by Sunday morning.

FOX16 Meteorologists Jeff Baskin and Chad Garneau will be tracking any potential storms. Watch for live updates tonight on FOX16 News @ 5, 9 and 10 and anytime on FOX16.com.
