Motorcyclist killed in accident on 67/167

I love the way people just assume that accidents are caused by motorcyclist when in dead that isn't always the case. I grow up around them all of my life and have lost many friends and family due to car drivers, truck drivers, and others just not watching out for the motorcyclist. I personally know this person and I find hard to believe that he would just not pay attention to the on coming or other traffic, he loved live and don't see him purposely putting it at risk...RIP Spunk

EVERYONE is in such a frickin hurry - EVERY DAY I encounter speeders (I can barely get out of my driveway due to a blind curve everyone wants to race around), red lights being run, people cutting other people off, people driving in turn lanes to "get around" the car ahead of them, people driving on the shoulder to get around other cars...I mean, really? If you have poor time management, take the heat for being late. Really, there is NO reason to endanger everyone's life because YOU want to speed. Seriously, SLOW DOWN, PEOPLE!!!!!

Sure a helmet may keep you alive if you just lay down your bike but a helmet of any kind is no match for something on 4 wheels. My heart goes out to Spunk's family, RIP.

I drive that stretch of road everyday going home and right where it happened for some strange reason people just slow down to a crawl during rush hour. I have no doubts that some one cut this poor gentleman off and caused him to lock up the brakes - I have seen close calls there before. It is sad - very sad and people really need to be more mindful of the others on the roads - Motorcycles, cars, trucks, 18 wheelers, etc. We have to share the roads so watch, listen and be kind on the roads. Better to get there alive and safe than to never arrive at all!!!

My friend knows this man. She was told that because the vehicle that pulled out in front of him contained children. So he laid his bike over to avoid in pack with the vehicle and to keep from hurting the children. Then another vehicle ran over him causing major head trauma.

That's why they call them donor cycles

The official police report doesn't say anything about a car cutting him off so, that's doubtful. I knew the man and he was fun to be around. He will be missed. I do wonder about the quality of the helmet he was wearing since his death was attributed to head injuries.

Rider & Driver education can not stop all accidents but it does help prevent many. Please ride & drive aware & leave lots of "whoopsie" space between you & the vehicle ahead. My husband & I ride daily for transportation & fun. We can all mess up in a split second. Please keep this rider & his family in your thoughts & prayers.
