When exactly did being a Christian cause anyone to become better than anyone else, more moral or ethical in their behavior? It may come as a shock but there are more Christians in prison than Atheists. Atheists are under represented in prisons and felony populations. Why? Because Atheists don't have a trap door or an escape hatch where one is forgiven in advance for anything they do. Atheists live in the here and now, they pay close attention to the consequences of their actions, because there is no forgiveness. Life is to be lived well and morally...there is no secret heaven to go to regardless of what you do, if you just get your Christian ticket punched and believe in Jesus. This post is not meant to provoke others, its just a fact regarding the differences between concluding there is no god, and believing in imaginary gods that forgive one no matter what one does.

My daughter went to the Mount from 08-2010....it was common knowledge that the two teachers in questions were lesbian lovers..I was shocked when my daughter told me matter of factly. The two women in question lived together...but that being said they never were out of the way in the least with my daughter...my concern did esulate when these professed christian women were not adhering to their Catholic beliefs. My daughter wanted to leave the school so I let her, maybe her intution kicked in..

Let me tell you something there red. I am far from anything. Read the papers. Watch the news. May be the ignorant one is close to you. May even be related to you. If you watch the news you will see that the people that commit these crimes are mostly working in a school or church. There are non so blind as those that will not see. Have you had your eyes checked lately. Might be time for a thicker pair. Or some are just stupid. I know where I fit how about you.

Ignorance. Mount St. Mary is not a staff of all nuns. In fact, no nuns are active teacher, though they work at the school. Many of the teachers and students are not even Catholic. The religion has nothing to do with these events- that is stereotypical, offensive, and ignorant. This type of thing does not "run wild in these places." This is the first time anything like this has happened at the Mount. It does however, happen to occur at many public schools as we have heard in the news recently. This can happen anywhere. It is no way, shape, or form the church's fault. I applaud the police forces and justice system for cracking down on teacher/educator conduct in schools in the past few months.

I'm worried about this type of person . They seem to just keep getting slapped on the hand. The thing that worries me the most is it seems to run wild in these places with a religious backgrounds. Makes me nervous every time I see someone with a bible. Them think this. How safe are our children in church.

Lilred, you make a good point. Here is the real deal ya'll. Until the justice system and the lawmakers wake up, get off of their lazy butts, arent afraid of offending someones rights and so on, nothing is going to change. They reduce sentences, they offer plea deals, they give the criminals every chance to get off of the charge and they do nothing to protect the innocent and the victims. The justice system cares only about making sure they do not violate the rights of the convicted than they do the innocent. If any of you want to make a difference, raise hell with the lawmakers. In the past few months, I have raised so much hell with them over things like this, but one person wont make a difference. If we speak in volume, they will get tired of it and do something about it, maybe. This is an election year, I plan to use it to my advantage, I'd encourage you to do the same. It may not do any good, but it dont do any good to just whine about it either. I'd rather be told no knowing I tried than for things to remain the same.

See how much faster the private school was able to take action on the matter...Rather than dealing with boards/unions and all that other crap that goes along with the public school system.

No, the majority of the teachers at Mount are what we would call lay persons, which means non-clergy. Clergy would be Nuns, and Priests but not limited to just those types. At Mount we did have a few Religious Sisters of Mercy (a.k.a Nuns) that taught. The unfortunate can happen anywhere, and I agree it is our duty as Parents to be informed. This is terrible in any case, and especially for the negative light it brings on such a Wonderful school. I speak from my heart when Mount was the best four years of my ENTIRE education and life. My parents sacrificed a lot to send me there.

I applaud MSM Academy! Not only did you fire the teacher, you fired those teachers who knew but kept quiet. It's about kids! YOU get it!
