How about some accountability for all the money I already give, not to mention the percentage of my income that is taxed when you figure in all the taxes I pay.(i'm absolutely sure I pay my FAIR SHARE),,I may be wrong but building new buildings prob won't fix NLR schools,not to mention they failed to tell you that this tax will never expire

It is actualy better, from my point of view(I am a student at North Little Rock HIgh) Instead of moving from 1 school to another to another to another to another, us students can be move to from 3 schools. Also the extra money will go to the buses so that those without transportaton are not cramp on 1 bus going to several different aeas of North Little Rock. This change is suppose to bring better education, and if that is so my parents are willing pay for a better education.

Property owners were out voted by non property owners [renters,goverment housing]and maby because they were at work,all I can say you should have voted so payup and don't complain it was your choice,vote or not.

You guys are pretty sad. The schools in the district are between 40-60 years old. They are run down because of age! The tax dollars are needed to help our students learn in a better environment. Instead of seeing a conspiracy everywhere, try caring about the kids in your community. I'll happily pay my share of the taxes! And YES, I do own property.

Another thing you don't seem to realize is that the better the schools in your community, the better the home values. With nothing but Social Security to live on, I'm already having a difficult time making ends meet and now the rich folks are making it even harder. I'm also wondering how many people voted for it that doesn't even own property.

Let's see, for every dollar we send to Dept of Education in Washington we get back from Washington 11 cents. With the local taxes and all added up, how much will the administration take off of the top? 40%+?. Then we will all be able see how the test scores improve! In the last 30 years how much has has the dropout rate improved, the SAT scores improved, fewer students that are qualified for college without remedial help. The Federal Government has proved it has no business in the education effort, the State of Arkansas has shown it certainly can not provide a superior education. The Arkansas Contitution, Article 14, Sec.3,(b)(1)..... "assessed value of all taxable real, personal, and utility property in the state to be used solely for maintenance and operation of the schools". Notice that maintenance is first. Most of administration needs to come home to the county and the 7 systems in Garland needs to become one system. Any administrator in Education needs to be elected, tenure goes away, and the Teacher's Union, which never had quality education in mind, probably would go away. Private schools would recieve the money that follows the student and parents can choose the school. That ought to scare the hell out of a lot of "educators".

Taxpayers snookered again. They won't take any more care of these buildings than they did the present ones.
