MAGNOLIA, Ark. (AP) — The attorney for a former Southern Arkansas University rodeo team member accused of stealing five horses from the school is seeking a new venue for his client's trial.

Attorney Michael Lusk filed the request for 20-year-old Jaci Jackson, who faces several theft charges.

The Texarkana Gazette reports that a pretrial hearing is scheduled for July 19, with the trial scheduled for July 26 in Magnolia.

Jackson's attorney argues that potential jurors in Columbia County are prejudiced against Jackson and that a fair and impartial trial isn't possible.

Jackson is accused in the theft of the horses, a trailer and tack from the Mulerider Stables. She faces animal cruelty charges in Oklahoma, where a horse named Credit Card was found dead with its throat slashed.

Reap what you sow!! What isn't fair is how she treated those poor animals and killed one!! After doing what she did, do you think many will have remorse for her???? I sure don't!! That's just plain EVIL!!! I DON"T feel sorry for people without a conscious; those are the ones you need to look out for!! They are OUT of their mind and CRAZY!!!

Wat ever all the trash involved in these thefts get will not be enough. Don't take your problems with another person out on innocent animals. All involved in this should be punished to the maximum, then add another 10 years for stupidity and hatefulness.

Poor thing. If she is afraid of jurors from that town, I think everyone in the entire state thinks she is a piece of trash.
