LAVACA, Ark. (AP) — School officials say no one was hurt when a semi-truck hit a school bus in Lavaca.

KFSM-TV reports that about 30 students were on the bus when the accident occurred about 7:30 a.m. Friday.

Officials say a semi-truck was leaving a convenience store when it clipped the school bus. Officials say the driver of the truck told police he didn't see the bus.

The bus was headed to a school. The students were placed on another bus and continued on to their destination.

The Lavaca school district is notifying parents of the students who were on the bus.

One day something worse than that is going to happen on highway 161 at Scott Ar.In some areas the highway is barely wide enough for 2 cars to pass each other. Then you have giant farm equipment, trucks pulling trailors, sanitation trucks ,school buses, dump trucks , eighteen wheelers, and now they have added bikers and mad it a bike trail. Myself and many others have been almost ran off the road when we suddenly come upon a large vehicle even a school bus driving across the line and the road is too narrow for us to safely move out of the way. One day something bad is going to happen because of this.It has nothing to do with this story, but I have to vent about it hoping someone will listen .

That truck driver might want to consider getting his vision checked if he couldn't see a big yellow bus.
