The Pastor of St. Luke Baptist Church accused of assault will not face jail time. Jacksonville police arrested Eric Alexander on charges he assaulted his ex-wife in front of church members.

A judge ordered Alexander complete an anger management course. Because he did complete that program, he will not face jail-time.

Well another hypocrite preacher has brought shame and disgrace to the body of christ. Since they have taken prayer from schools, and out of the justice system then I am not too surprised by this outcome. Hypocrites has exonerated another hypocrite. If eric is a"Man of the cloth" then how is that he can abuse,hit,punch,slap,etc... anyone and still call himself a man of GOD (YAH)? Too many times we believe that by him/us being people that we can put down the holy spirit when someone offends us and then pick it up when we get ready. Pastor or not he has done a horrible thing. How can he preach holiness and salvation when that same holy spirit couldn't keep him yet it is supposed to keep his people? It is time that we hold ALL these so called spiritual leaders accountable for their actions. eric is a false preacher and anyone with some spiritual discernment can see that. And everyone that follows him are headed for the same fiery hell. As preachers we are GOD(YAH)'s mouthpiece, which means we are directly hearing from him and it reflects in our daily living. What message was YAH sending thru this hypocrite? How is this edifying the body of christ? And for anyone that continues to say that "we are all sinners and everyone does something wrong".. show me in the bible that we all are just some saved sinners, and everybody messes up from time to time. What would be the purpose of Jesus dying on the cross and TAKING AWAY OUR SINS but we still sin from time to time? Defeats the purpose huh? Throughout the bible we are warned to turn from sin and the dangers of continuing in sin. Which is why Jesus(Yeshua) came.. so if we still sin then the work on the cross wasn't good enough to cleanse us... stop being hypocrites and supporting this one, repent(which means to change or convert) and turn to YAH before it's everlasting too late. eric you are a false prophet and everyone that follows you is false and behold your sins gone find you out...HEAR ME TALKING!!!!!

i think if he abused her in front of the members at church this wasnt his first time, he has been doing it all along.we are all human and everyone make mistakes, at the time of this incident he should be well aware being a man of god and a leader in the community that physical abuse is illegal and it causes emotional issues as well, after the scars have healed your still left with problems, and she wasnt the only victim his children are victims as well. i couldnt imagine what those children are going through.i wouldnt want someone like that leading or trying to show me the way when to me he is lost his self.i think he may need to step down until he get it together.

@ Shameless sorry for your loss, but my dear MY PASTOR is NOTHING like the man you are describing.... as memyselfi said she was the one that suited up and went to his place of employment causing trouble... yes he is a man of the cloth, but only a human being is going to let you hit them so many times before they retaliate.... i am NOT justifying what he did by any means, but this ex-wife is not the victim here... and if he was sooooo bad and dangerous why does he have his children with him all the time. We all fall short and screw up but he has asked for forgivness and he has moved on with his life.... now why can't she do the same except she (and the rest of ya'll condemning him when FORGIVENESS is the key) won't let things go... she'd rather spend her days/nights calling Fox 16 and trying to ruin his reputation... BOTTOM LINE: YES HE WAS WRONG, HE HAS MOVED ON WITH HIS LIFE...SUCESSFULLY COMPLETED HIS ANGER MANAGEMENT CLASS AND THERE WILL BE NO JAIL TIME FOR HIM... NOW HE CAN MOVE ON TO ANOTHER CHAPTER IN LIFE WITHOUT THE DRAMA!!!

to "memyslfi" this is why people ACCEPT abuse as a way of life. It is NEVER permissable to slap, slander belittle or hit your spouse. If they have like u said caused a scene and are embarrassing you such as what it sounds like in this case,,,call 911,,,50 will surely show up. But in retrospect...HE IS A MAN OF THE CLOTH...PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH....TURN THE OTHER CHEEK....DID JESUS WHO AS EVERYONE SAYS HAD THE POWER TO POINT A FINGER AND POOF U WERE DUST....DID HE DO THIS TO THE AHOLES THAT DID HIM WRONG,,,DIDNT SEE ANYTHING ABOPUT IT IN MY BIBLE...THINK BEFORE U PREACH AND SAY WWJD...JUST INCASE U WANT TO GET ON THE BIBLE THUMPING BUSS AGAIN

well i speak from facts not hearsay. On Jan 18,1996, after many NAGRE MANAGEMENT sessions and restraining orders, my mother was shot in the face with a .357 mag, hollowpoint ammo, by her husband of 1 yr 18 days. As she lay in her bed and my 11 year old daughter in the next room, I have the County of Pulaski and their WONDERFUL assessors, and judges to thank for the almost 20000 dollar funeral we had to plan, the weeks of fighting to get her body released to us the family for burial this only after the State Crime Lab had cut her into pieces to find the actual cause of death. Not taht the dime size hole in her face or the entire right side of the back of her head was blown completely off. Her beautiful blonde hair crimson colored by her own blood. Oh and lets not forget the hours of following this ahole because our wonderful justice system allowed him to go free on bond paid by HER bank account which he had "friends" take out. Or the fight we had getting her life insurance policy because he had forged her signature. But then let us forever remember the 3 children even though they were adults at the time made it no less devastating, her 7 grandchildren 1 of which was born during hte trial a year later, or her 4 great grand children whom she never met. She shall never see her oldest graduate from college with a law degree, her 2nd oldest granddaughter become a doctor, or the beautiful sunrise she so much loved. No more shall we have a mothrs day celebration, christmas get together or thanksgiving dinner. I tell you all this because the world needs to wake up. Arkansas is number 1 in the nation for 4 yrs running for domestic abuse. There are 450 shelters in this state with an occupancy level of 30-50 per unit. With these numbers in mind, think about the 45% of women who were turned away from the shelters, sent back to the only place they had to go THEIR ABUSER!!! Please remember these words, THERES NO EXCUSE FOR ABUSE!!!! PLEASE STOP THE VIOLENCE

There is a significant difference between getting slapped and getting beat. It's my understanding that she was slapped. If she was in the parking lot causing a disturbance at his place of worship and his work she should have been charged with disturbing the peace. However, he took the liberty to administer the justice himself. Was it wrong on his part? Yes, although the public hanging he has already received is probably justice enough. If he was dangerously violent there would be a whole cycle of abuse and past criminal activity. The ex-spouse needs to consider this a lesson learned the hard way. There is an Aesop fable that fits this circumstance. If she was a victim of domestic abuse while still married to him, it would have been in the headlines just because if his position. It does no justice to the real victims of domestic violence for people to use this for their personal gain. She was mad because of ex-spouse issues, and probably the fact he had moved on from her.
