Sunday, the district bode farewell to Kirspel at a retirement party.
He led the district for more than 20 years, navigated the desegregation case and helped push a successful millage campaign, pumping over a $160,000,000.
He says his greatest accomplishment was helping students succeed.
Kirspel retires June 30th his replacement is Kelly Rodgers from Texas and he starts the next day.
Kirspel is born and raised in North Little Rock and says he'll still be around.
