NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR - North Little Rock voters will decide whether to approve a one cent sales tax increase. The polls will remain open until 7:30 pm.

Less than two hours remained Tuesday evening for North Little Rock voters to cast their ballots. City Hall is a polling place and has very little movement as far as voters go. FOX16 went to a church on JFK, where several voters too shy to go on camera, but one woman wasn't shy being in favor of the tax. One man said to mark him down as a “No” vote.

The one cent increase would help pay for police officers and firefighters among other capital and general improvements, and would bring in more than 15 million dollars a year. Half of the tax would go away in 2017 if approved.

These "special" elections are just a way for politicians to get taxes passed. A complete fraud. Why not wait for the next election? They (politicians) know they would fail miserably when everyone that usually votes turns out to vote. The people that are on the city dole or are expecting to gain if the measure passes outnumber the voters in special elections. The regular Joe has to work. Idiots. I bet it passes.

You know we the people need more money too.
